CVR in Times Argus–Fun Runs–Green Up–Winter Long Run Date Change & More!
Did CVR get some coverage in the Times Argus or what? Do you know our history?

(unfortunately, you’ll need to pay for these links if you don’t have a subscription, but you can get the whole article and more pictures from the T-A headquarters or a neighbor if you missed it.)
The first OFFICIAL FUN RUN of 2016 is May 3. To celebrate, Mack Gardner-Morse is coordinating a CVR Green-Up day along the Fun Run course on May 5. Please put it on your calendar so I don’t feel so guilty about scheduling the Adamant 20 Miler on official Green Up Day. Stay tuned for details…
Speaking of Fun Runs, you’ve got one more chance to participate unofficially at 5:30 on Tuesday April 26. The report from 4/12 was that 4 males between the age of 55 and 57 ran together. Huge improvement in diversity on 4/19 with 2 55-59 females, 3 60-69 males and 2 70-79 males joining the 55 yo male. I guess the youth will join us when results are published in The World or maybe when we stop having a 15 mph NW wind every Tuesday evening (very good for negative splits though).
2 more Winter Long Runs and this week is a tradition breaker. From Jeff:
Our Winter Long Run this weekend will on SUNDAY rather than Saturday. That’s right, Sunday, April 24. Our hosts will be Meredith Naughton and Thorin Markison. The meeting place will be at their home at 32 W.County Rd in Calais…across from Maple Corner Store. The run will be a dirt road loop through Calais. Post-run refreshments will be available at the Maple Corner Store. E-mail Meredith at firstname.lastname@example.org to ask questions or to confirm your plan to attend.
2 Maple Syrup Winners plus Donna and Jake at Rollin Irish
Of course Dot Martin, CVR’s other syrup winner, is out running more….
Season Kick off: Adamant 20 miler May 7: Volunteer, get a relay together, or go for it and run the whole 20! Sign up now with this app . We can still use lots of volunteers. Volunteers get soup too! email@example.com
I now count 29 families that have not renewed for 2016. Are you delinquent??? If in doubt, contact Allie Nerenberg, CVR’s Membership Coordinator to determine your status. Visit the new CVRUNNERS.ORG website to renew.
The Corporate Cup on Thursday May 12 is looking for volunteers. If you are not running, it is fun to volunteer and see the masses running through Montpelier. If interested register on their website or contact Cindy Hier with questions.
Note that for the first time in a while, there is more than a week between the Corporate Cup and the Barre Town Spring Run. An unusual opportunity to do both. The very start of Barre may seem as cluttered as Corporate Cup, but I guarantee you’ll have much more freedom running after you make it through the sprinting kids.
See you on the roads, Donna
