Happy New Year!

8 Happy Runners enjoy the cold sunshine in scenic Adamant.
Runners will enjoy the scenic Red Hen Bakery in Middlesex Jan 14

The deadline for the next CVR newsletter is Sunday, January 15. Send Bob Howe your interesting 2016 stories or motivational articles for 2017. Send him a photo of your favorite running medal to be included in the random drawing for a special prize given at the Annual Dinner Jan 26 (do not need to be present to win). Please email your articles and photos to Bob!

This week’s CVR Winter Long Run will be hosted by Andy Shuford. Meet at the entry of the Red Hen Bakery in Middlesex. Good place for changing clothes and hot drinks with decadent food afterwards. Route to be determined by road conditions following our weekly thaw/refreeze cycle. Contact Andy for questions and last minute notices.

Deadline for reservations for the Annual CVR Volunteer Appreciation Dinner and CVR/ORS Series Awards on January 26, 2017 approaches. Contact John Martin by Jan 18 to RSVP. Remember, volunteers are free, guests and member/non volunteers are $25. Social time with cash bar at 5:45, dinner at 6:30. CVR singlets and shirts will be available to purchase and Allie can take CVR membership renewals at the dinner, so bring your checkbook! The CVR/ORS Series Results are currently deemed final, so don’t notice anything wrong with them now.

From Helen Bryan: I found a pair of gloves and a hat in the middle of a Montpelier street on race day last weekend [that was Jan 1 weekend]. I still have them and would love to get them back to their owner. It is also possible that they belong to a bicycle rider. The items can be recovered by calling me at 279-8858, Helen Bryan

How many of you still use a paper running log book? Anyone not have a 2017 one yet? I ended up with 2 from Christmas and would love to give the classic Runners Day by Day to somebody who would like to use it. I considered saving it for the special prize for the CVR Newsletter medals photo random drawing, but decided it would be better to give it to somebody who might actually want to use it. Yes, seeing it on paper can be informational and motivational with less screen time! First responder gets it!

Happy January Thaw (yuck),

Thanks to Chris Andresen for photography while volunteering.
