Deadlines for Stowe 8 Miler & Newsletter–Fun Runs–Final Winter Long Run–CVR Meeting and More!

Hey Runners,

We have a couple of deadlines on the horizon:

Email Shannon Salembier by Friday, May 6th if you would like to be in the drawing for the Stowe 8 Miler/5k free entries. Let her know which race you plan to enter. Shannon will pick the winners May 7. I’m rooting for the big drawing to be held at the Adamant 20 Miler awards so we can have our CVR auditors present.
In case you forgot, from the News and Notes of April 13:
The Stowe 8 Miler and 5K on July 10 is now part of the CVR/ORS series and has offered CVR 5 Free entries! As part of the new club competition, we need to get as many people as we can to sign up and we need to fill certain AG requirements to win monetary prizes for the club. Shannon Salembier is coordinating sign ups and free entries.

CVR in Times Argus–Fun Runs–Green Up–Winter Long Run Date Change & More!

Do you recognize this man winning the Ocean State Marathon in 1980?

Hey Runners,

Did CVR get some coverage in the Times Argus or what? Do you know our history?

(unfortunately, you’ll need to pay for these links if you don’t have a subscription, but you can get the whole article and more pictures from the T-A headquarters or a neighbor if you missed it.)

The first OFFICIAL FUN RUN of 2016 is May 3. To celebrate, Mack Gardner-Morse is coordinating a CVR Green-Up day along the Fun Run course on May 5. Please put it on your calendar so I don’t feel so guilty about scheduling the Adamant 20 Miler on official Green Up Day. Stay tuned for details…
Speaking of Fun Runs, you’ve got one more chance to participate unofficially at 5:30 on Tuesday April 26. The report from 4/12 was that 4 males between the age of 55 and 57 ran together. Huge improvement in diversity on 4/19 with 2 55-59 females, 3 60-69 males and 2 70-79 males joining the 55 yo male. I guess the youth will join us when results are published in The World or maybe when we stop having a 15 mph NW wind every Tuesday evening (very good for negative splits though).

Results Update

News you can use…

Hey you guys,

First of all, I have an addition to make regarding last week’s reporting of Kaynor’s Sap Run. I failed to report that Lori Crotts was 1st F Overall in a time of 40:35. So along with Megan Valentine in 2nd Overall and Allie Nerenberg in 3rd Overall, we had an awesome CVR sweep for the top 3 women. If you look at the results closely, you might even notice that it was also a Jerichoan sweep for the top 3 women. (Jerichoite? Jerichoter? Jerichovan?) Belated congratulations to Lori.

See below for results for Half Marathon Unplugged.

Hi Runners,
Here we go….my first attempt at club wide news and notes!  Some of you may find this in a junk or promotions mailbox since it is coming from a new email. Move me to your primary email box or you’ll miss out on lots of great info over the next 51 weeks…We have now completed Unofficial Fun Run #4 — It is wintery weather I would have loved to see in February. This week, 4 hardy runners showed up with paces ranging from run/walk to long threshold pace. As my first presidential duty, I was hoping to presentChris Andresen with a citation as the only person who has attended every single Tuesday–Instead, he remains the only person to attend the 1st three. I hear next Tuesday is supposed to be warmer, so come on out and tell us about how you did or how cold it was at Unplugged or how much fun you had at the …
