I missed the Capital City Stampede this weekend. Sad! I have run this race more times than any other CVR event: 7 times, including twice before I moved to Vermont!
Donna wondered in News & Notes if I would finally run the Worcester 4-mile Challenge this year. I am not…but hope to make it next year. (Mack Gardner-Morse should feel good about his chances in my absence!) Here is event information: http://cvrunners.org/?page_id=301
Anyway, see below for results:

I just got word that we are behind in the Stowe 8 Miler sign ups–GMAA has 12 and CVR is only at 8! I know they are drawing from a bigger crowd, but can we win this one in our back yard? Sign up here for either the 5K or 8 Miler to count towards our total: http://stowe8miler.com/ . OK, I’ll try to get there myself in the next couple of days. Continue reading Message from Donna→
It looks like I missed the biggest turnout ever– 238 kids at the 20th Annual CVR Kids Track Meet on Friday. Reports are that it was great fun and a huge success. Thanks to Dot Helling and Sandy Colvin for organizing. The volunteers deserve a special shout out for stepping up to make things go smoothly: Becky Diedrich, Shannon Salembier, Denise Ricker, Ben Ellingson, Greg Wight, Gavin Boyles, Michael Chernick, Dylan Broderick, Sam Acosta, Marsha Bancroft, Dot Martin, John Martin, Beth Daut, Tim Noonan, Bob Murphy, Chris Andresen, Rima Carlson, Brian Carlson and Emmanuel Riby-Williams.
Thanks for encouraging all these current and future CVR members to run for fun!
On your mark!
CVR’s Estherline Carlson appears to be leading the pack!
I also missed the inaugural CVR weekly Track workout. Contact Steve Hill or show up any Wednesday at 6 at MHS when you feel the need for speed. Continue reading Message from Donna→

Hey you guys,
Last weekend was fairly low-key…sandwiched between the Vermont City Marathon and everyone’s favorite 10k on Saturday. (See here for info about the 39th annual Capital City Stampede: http://cvrunners.org/?page_id=272) See below for results from:

The 20th Annual Central Vermont Runners Kids Tracks Meet held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Montpelier High School Track had a record 238 registered participants. The event is free to all Central Vermont kids aged pre-school through 6th grade and includes a variety of track running events as well as a softball throw and long jump. Founded by Montpelier resident and CVR runner Tim Noonan the event is a favorite amongst area parents and kids. Each participant receives a participant t-shirt, finisher’s medal and sticker identifying them as #1. Co-directors Dot Helling and Sandy Colvin are already planning next year’s event and welcome any and all input from partciipants and their parents. Thank you for coming out and a special thanks to the amazing fleet of volunteers without whom this event could not take place so safely and successfully.
