Quick Race Updates and Needs THIS Saturday, November 2: the Fallen Leaves 5K series begins! This fast, flat 5K course starts and finishes on the track at Montpelier High School. The race seriesstarts this Saturday, November 2, and runs for the next two Saturdays (the 9th and the 16th), with a 9 a.m. start time for each race. Same course, different day – the weather could be 70 degrees and sunny one Saturday, and snowing and 20 the next, but the best challenge is to see how you compete against yourself! Run one, run all three – it’s up to you. We only do race-morning registration ($5!) so show up at the track before 8:45am on race dayto get your bib and line up at the start. Volunteers always welcome – please reach out directly to Tim to let him know you’re available to help! Race Series Standings Updates – Volunteer Opportunities are running out for 2024! A reminder to all members – don’t forget that members have to volunteer for a race to be eligible for prizes! The Fallen Leaves series is your last chance to meet that requirement for 2024! Also note that six members with the highest point totals who did not win their age group will also receive prizes at the annual club dinner in January. There are a few age groups that are mostly wrapped up, but the race for the runner up spots is still wide open right now. Sign up to volunteer and/or race, there is still time! Volunteer now online using the Volunteer link on the CVR website homepage at https://cvrunners.org OR by email to the race directors above. |
Tuesday Fun Runs – Julio’s on October 29th Tuesday Fun Runs set off every Tuesday at 5:30pm from the DoL parking lot. Official fun runs go through October (essentially, when the clocks change and it’s too dark by 5:30) so get out while the weather is gorgeous! Informal fun runs have been popular over the fall/winter months so start charging those headlamps! Note that there is a planned post-run hangout at Julio’s tomorrow night so mark your calendars! |
