51st Annual Paul Mailman 10 Miler

and 5K

Directions: Race location: Montpelier High School. Parking is at the school, and the races start and end on the track.  Map

Registration:
Please note: Both races will have a limit on the total entries accepted:
  •100 maximum for the 10 Miler.
  •50 maximum for the 5K.
Entry fees: 10 Miler: $20 5k: $15.
Online registration only. There will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.
Entries cannot be transferred between the two races.

Registration closes at midnight on April 16, 2026.   

Number pickup: Race day number pickup at the Montpelier High School track from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

Starting time: Both races start promptly at 8:45 a.m.

Volunteers: We need volunteers to assure a safe and enjoyable race for everyone. If you are not running and would like to help, sign up to volunteer on the Homepage of this website, or at RunSignup, or email John Hackney
If you are running and have a family member or friend that could volunteer, please encourage them to help us by volunteering.

Awards: 5K awards at 10:00 a.m. 10 mile awards at 11:00 a.m.
   •10 Mile Awards to 1st overall male, female, and non-binary runner and 1st male, female,
   and non-binary runner in each 10 year age division.
   •We will have two Catamount summer trail race subscriptions to offer as awards to the top finishers in the 10 mile race. For more information about the Catamount race series, follow this link: Catamount Race Series
   •5k awards to top three overall male, female, and non-binary runners.

Course:   Classic dirt road course, flat by the river and rolling hills on Jones Brook Rd. 5K is flat out and back.
    Course maps:  10 Mile      5k

Aid stations: Near the 5K turnaround (also about mile 8.5) and miles 4.5 and 6.

Please note that strollers and dogs are NOT allowed in the races.

The 2026 Paul Mailman races are a Central Vermont Runners fundraiser for Good Samaritan Haven in Montpelier and Barre, VT. A portion of our race proceeds will be donated to Good Samaritan Haven. Good Samaritan Haven is a nonprofit that provides emergency assistance to people experiencing homelessness. Learn more about Good Samaritan Haven
