🎆Volunteers and Participants Wanted for the New Years Eve 5K! 

Volunteers! Race director Jennifer Dickinson needs a few more people to volunteer as course marshals, the finish line crew, and other duties. Don’t forget that this is the first race of the 2026 CVR/ORO race series, so you can get volunteer points for the year as the series is just starting out! Signing up to volunteer is easier than ever; just click the link here and select your desired role (you can also choose to be slotted wherever needed!). Your help is crucial so please sign up today!

Sign up to take part in the race! Registration is available online here. We strongly recommend registering ahead of time – online registration closes at midnight on December 28! Day-of registration will be at ORO.

  • Feeling Festive? There are two opportunities to join other members for various holiday-themed evening runs before Christmas!
    • Santa Runderachievers on Thursday, December 18, meet at Good Measure Brewing in Northfield at 5:30pm. Wear Santa or festive gear for a leisurely jaunt around Northfield (typically 2,5 miles or less) and a social at the Good Measure afterwards. 
    • Ugly Holiday Sweater Run on TuesdayDecember 23,from the Bear Naked Growler! Wear your best worst holiday attire, plus your headlamp and reflective gear, for a jolly jog along the Montpelier bike path. Meet at the Growler at 5:30pm.

  • ☃️Winter Group Runs – hosts needed for 12/20 and many dates in January and February! Get details on the weekly runs as they come together on the Google sheet here. Note that WGRs will be taking off at 9:30am on Saturdays this winter (with Sundays as possible snow-days if Saturday weather looks particularly unfavorable). Sign up to host at this google sheet, or email Jessica Ball, our WGR coordinator, at jessica.petrino@gmail.com.
    • Email Heather or Donna ASAP if you not getting our Thursday WGR emails! We send out a Thursday blast with details of the coming WGR in a special note. You can also always find details on the google sheet above!
  • 🏃Enter to win CVR’s 2026 Boston Marathon Entry! All details and eligibility requirements are on the application form – please read carefully before throwing your hat in the ring. The winner will be selected at a raffle after the NYE 5K Awards on December 31. Winner does not need to be present to win, but we’d love to tell you in person! Deadline to enter is 11:59pm on December 29. Good luck!
  • 🗓️Save the Date – CVR Annual Volunteer and Awards Dinner will be January 29, 2026 at the Capitol Plaza in Montpelier!More details to come soon, make sure you keep that evening free for celebration and enjoying time with your fellow members to reflect on another fantastic year with CVR.     • 🏆The Awards Committee is seeking nominees for this year’s Spirit of the Club and David Ellerson Volunteer of the Year Awards. Do you know someone in the club who may fit the profiles of either of these awards? Nominate them! Details on the awards and the form to submit the name and a brief reason why you’re nominating them can be found here.
  • Coming to the GMCF pool in January: H2Go! Join member Jill Weeks in the deep end for a new way to workout in the pool with no laps involved, cap and goggles not needed. Full piece bathing suits recommended to prevent chafing from the waist vest. Water vest provided. H2Go! will meet on Wednesdays from 8:00-8:45 AM, from January 7 – March 11. Registration fee: $97 for members; $157 for non-members. Register here.
