Hi CVR Members,
We are halfway through December and only 2 weeks left to the year! Remember we are in the off season so there is not as much news to report on so if you participate in an event during the week or have something you would like to add to these news and notes please let me know. With that, let’s get into what news we do have.
Winter Group Runs
The first Saturday run of our newly named group runs was met with icy conditions and the course had to be changed. Then the second Saturday run was met with even more icy conditions with rain and sleet and you name it coming down and again the course had to be changed. I hope these conditions are not happening because of the name change. Maybe Jeff is sending a jinx our way because we changed the name and he didn’t want us to? After a warm up all week, snow is forecasted for Saturday! Anyways, there were 5 of us that braved the conditions and ran an out and back on route 100B, and survived.
Next week the word is the run will be in Adamant. Donna Smyers who will be hosting it wanted me to put it out there that this Saturday there will be those that will also be walking a 4.2 mile loop. So if you are not on the distribution for the email that goes out on Thursday morning then reply to this email and ask to be added! Walkers welcomed.
Coming up Events
A repeat from last week but I want to put a request out there for members to sign up to volunteer for the NYE5K. I do have a few more but still need a lot more. There is still time to sign up. On our home page click on Membership. Then click on the “Volunteer for a CVR Race”. You need to login with your account details. If you are having troubles to sign up, just reply to this email and I will help you out!
Our next two events are open for registration! The New Year’s Eve 5K, which will take place at 2 PM in Montpelier is open. Please note there is a change in the bib pickup and race day registration location for the event. It will be at Onion River Outdoors. We are highly recommending online registration and the entrance fee will go up on race day. For details go to our website – NYE5K.
Snow Shoe Race is on again this year and will be live! Here are her details of the event.

CVR Annual Dinner
There is still time to sign up for the annual dinner. Please RSPV to John Martin.
As I reported last week I do have an MC signed up with me for the dinner. For the last 3 or 4 annual dinners we had I was the unofficial/official photographer. Since I will be at the podium this year I need a new photographer. Anyone want to sign up? I would appreciate your support.

Other News
I heard there was the VT Krampuslauf 10K mountain race at Suicide Six last weekend. I couldn’t find the link to the results but do know that CVR members Dylan Broderick, Darrel Lasell and Tom Mowatt competed in the event. If you want to know more details about the event and results you can ask them. The course looked pretty brutal.

New Year’s Eve 5K 12/31
Runderacheivers in Northfield
Runderachievers is a social run group that meets in front of Good Measure Brewing Co every Wednesday at 5:30. (17 East St, Northfield, VT 05663)
All ages, and abilities are welcome. After a short run(or walk) we enjoy special pricing of their draft craft beers.
Anyone wishing to enter the brewery must show proof of vaccination.
Spruce Mountain Hike/Run
Every Sunday from 7:30 am. Hikers or runners of all abilities can join. Reach out to April Farnham with any questions.
