CVR Birthdays this week:
Happy Birthday to: Lori Howe, Caleb Kessler, Jeff Prescott, Timothy Shea, Steven Snook, Chris Andresen, Kaylan Duncan
Hi CVR Members,
We have come to the end of the year. Another one with anxiety around us due to Covid, but as a running club we stuck together and found our way through the year with great success. Thanks to all the directors stepping up and directing races and volunteers stepping up and volunteering for races, we succeeded to put on every race in our 2021 plan, with the exception of the Barre Town Spring Run. As a result, 1,144 runners participated in our events this year. We continued to have Winter Long runs, now called the Winter Group Runs and we launched the Summer Trail Run series and the Fun Runs was another success. We also had great energy with Leaf Peepers training. As a result this running club has grown to 332 members as of today with 91 new members in 2021. The year to year growth is just tremendous. All of this is a great success story and it all happened in a very difficult year and it’s all because this is a great running club with fantastic members that know how to pull things together. With that I just want to say thank you to all of you for making this happen and
HAPPY NEW YEARS!!
We are in great shape to have a really really fantastic year in 2022!
Myself and co-director Jennifer Dickinson are very busy this week with final planning for our first race of the 2022 Season, this Friday’s New Year’s Eve 5K so this will be a very short newsletter this week. Hope you all have a great holiday weekend and I see you out there for the 5K.
Winter Group Runs
The group runs will returned after the holidays with the first one being January 8th. A picture from the past, this one was the first ever Winter Long Run in Marshfield, on this exact day 2 years ago and it happened to be at my place. If you look at the front row you will see Sal Acosta wearing shorts!
