Don’t look at your calendar or re-read last week’s newsletter. Summer is finally here! Looks like a week of mostly sunshine and not a mention of rain. Yay!
Sodom Pond 4 miler was last week. The results are posted here: sodom-pond-age-groups-2023.pdf (cvrunners.org). It was perfect conditions for the race. There were 49 finishers (30 last year). Overall Female Winner: Addie Hedges 28:14 Overall Male Winner: Nicholas Kidder 22:38. Every age group had at least one runner for both female and male from 0-19 to 70+.
As Eminem says “Snap back to reality…”. Sunday is October 1st. Sunday is Leaf Peepers Half Marathon & 5K! The National Weather Service is forecasting Sunday to be sunny and mid 70’s. Perfect for getting out and putting in a few miles or cheering on the runners as they make their way along the courses. I look forward to seeing you in Waterbury.
The CVR Apparel Store is OPEN from now until Sept 30 for orders! That means you have 3 days left to place your order! As of today 26 people have placed an order, so don’t get left out!
Items ordered will be delivered to Richarda Ericson in Montpelier in mid October. We will arrange distribution and pick-up procedures at that time.
This is a limited time order period, so plan ahead for all your CVR clothing needs. Remember that CVR clothing is great for gifts!

Other runs
The Long Trail Running Club has Thursday evening runs in Chittenden County, starting and finishing at a brew pub. It’s a fun group, and they usually find good routes. Routes are 4-6 miles long; the group stops from time to time to wait for the caboose to catch up; there’s also often a group that walks. Check out the group at www.meetup.com/longtrailrunning
Membership Renewal – Reminder
There’s a link to RunReg at https://cvrunners.org/join-cvr (“JOIN CVR”). This page also has a printable form for those who prefer to mail their renewal.
Renewing with a multi-year membership means fewer year-end renewals for you and less administration for the club.
Not sure when your membership is due for renewal?
• check your membership card (contact Graham if you need a new one)
•check when your membership expires by logging in to the CVR website. (Here are the instructions to log in)
• contact Graham and he can confirm your renewal date

We invite all trail runners to join us for the Footprints Trail Run. We’ll start the day off with a trail race, winding from the Outdoor Center through singletrack, ski trails and dirt roads up to Craftsbury Common on either a 5 or 10-mile course
