Hi CVR Members,
Happy Winter Solstice and a very Merry Christmas! It’s great to know we have longer days coming, but seems like a long ways to go before we get through the winter and racing season returns. But wait, next week it’s the start of the 2022 race season with the New Year’s Eve 5K! Is everyone signed up for it yet? Anyways, let’s get into the news.
Winter Group Runs
Last week was the first really nice day for a CVR Saturday winter group run. I wasn’t able to make it but it looks like there was a great turn out for the event. In the picture can you count how many runners participated? I can count 19. What about you?
Heather Tomlins, coordinator of the winter group runs, wanted me to remind you that due to the holidays we will not have a group run for the next couple of weeks. If you are looking for someone to still run with on those days, please use our Facebook Community page for that. Otherwise, the next run will be January 8th. As always, if you’re not on the distribution list for the group please reply to this email and ask to be added.
Coming up Events
The New Year’s Eve 5K will take place at 2 PM in Montpelier. Please note once again there is a change in the bib pickup and race day registration location for the event. It will be at Onion River Outdoors. We are highly recommending online registration and the entrance fee will go up on race day. For details go to our website – NYE5K. More volunteers are needed! If you are having issues with signing up on our website, just reach out to me! Thanks.
Snow Shoe Race is on again this year and will be live! Here are her details of the event.

3 mile course, snowshoes are required. ORO is offering 50% discount on rentals to participants.

Other News
As you all know already, “Our Speed Work Out Night” will return next Spring with Natalie Gentry as the new coordinator of that event. I’m wondering if Natalie knows that in past years when we had a speed workout night, it was a year round event. The following picture is proof of that. It popped up in my memory photos over the weekend. Some of the old timers may remember we went several years without someone showing up every week, including some pretty cold and icy days.

Runderacheivers in Northfield
Runderachievers is a social run group that meets in front of Good Measure Brewing Co every Wednesday at 5:30. (17 East St, Northfield, VT 05663)
All ages, and abilities are welcome. After a short run(or walk) we enjoy special pricing of their draft craft beers.
Anyone wishing to enter the brewery must show proof of vaccination.
Spruce Mountain Hike/Run
