Steve Hill thinks that you might not realize how much fun and motivating the Wed speed workouts are. He says the “speed” part of it has changed definition with the season. They still mostly do timed pickups for fairly long intervals with headlamps on the bike path, but many just show up to run with people and skip the tempo part these days. Steve says that about half the participants each week admit that they wouldn’t be running that night if not for the group and some even admit it is their first run since the last Wed night. Everyone is welcome to join in and do whatever kind of running you feel up for and enjoy that special cameraderie that running in the dark and cold with a group provides. 6 pm every Wed night at the bike path near the track. Contact Steve firstname.lastname@example.org to be on the list for any last minute changes.
Winter Long Runs take a Holiday Break the next 2 weeks. Jeff thinks you might need the time to shop this Saturday and we know you all will be at NYE 5K either running or volunteering the next Saturday, right?
Speaking of which….
Time is running short to preregister for the New Year’s Eve 5K. PLEASE preregister to curtail any financial exchanges in the Pavilion building. Use this online link to register or you can print and mail the app from here. Contact Ann Bushey if you can volunteer instead of running.

Time to think about 2017! Reservations are now being taken for the Volunteers/Awards Banquet, Jan. 26, at Positive Pie in Barre.
Here’s the Volunteers List for 2016. Anybody on the volunteer list gets dinner for free, others are $25. I think I count 92 people on the list–most of you are there! The dinner is our thank you for volunteering so we can put on so many fun, low cost events. The easiest thing is to RSVP now, but the deadline is Jan. 18.

John Martin requests that you do not contact him if your name is not on the list and should be–that’s what the Jim Flint link is for.

Spirit of the Club and CVR/ORS Series Awards will be presented after dinner. Dinner buffet will include salads, vegetable dishes, various pizzas, a pasta dish and dessert with coffee service from Espresso Bueno.
